Al Currie is well known to the RAF Golf Team. He is a PGA Professional Golf coach who instructed the RAF Golf Team from 2009 to 2012.
Al is the professional at The Old Nene Golf & Country Club which is a 9-hole public golf course located just a mile north of the quaint market town of Ramsey. Nestled on the edge of the Cambridgeshire Fens, our attractive parkland course makes generous use of its natural water and tree features, which helped the Club win the Eastern Region Environmental Award when it opened in 1992. Although a public course, we have a very active members section, running competitions, overseeing handicaps, arranging social events and organising matches against other clubs. The Club also boasts a newly renovated 12 bay floodlit driving range and putting green.
Al has a fantastic set up with all the modern technology boasting the latest in Trackman system. He uses this system now to teach golf which provides instantaneous feedback to the golfer rather than relying upon the traditional techniques using the naked eye for a downswing movement that takes less than 0.5 sec. Trackman is a very versatile piece of equipment that can be used for teaching as well as playing rounds indoors. Al makes this equipment available for the individual as well in order to practice and have the direct feedback to show improvement.
